Obeliskの新作、スタッズレザーハーフパンツの制作がスタートしました！
今回は、一枚のデザイン画から始まり、パターン制作、トワルでの仮縫い、そして実際に使用するレザーの裁断まで、少しずつ形になっていく制作工程をご紹介します。
レザーという存在感のある素材に、Obeliskらしいスタッズワークを組み合わせたハーフパンツ。

We have started working on a new pair of Studded Leather Half Pants at Obelisk.
This time, we would like to show you the production process—from the original design sketch and pattern making to the toile fitting and finally cutting the actual leather.
Leather has a powerful character of its own, and by combining it with Obelisk’s distinctive stud work, we are creating a unique pair of half pants.
Here is a behind-the-scenes look at how an idea gradually takes shape and becomes a real garment.
まずはデザイン画から/Starting with the Design Sketch
最初に、全体のシルエット、ポケットの位置、切り替えなどを考えながら、デザイン画を描いていきます。
今回のポイントは、レザーならではの存在感とスタッズカスタムを組み合わせること。
ハーフパンツというカジュアルなアイテムですが、Obeliskらしい力強さと個性を感じられるデザインに仕上げていきます。
First, we decide on the overall silhouette, pocket placement, panel lines, and other details.
One of the key features of this design is the combination of the strong character of leather with custom stud work.
Although half pants are basically a casual item, our goal is to give them a bold and distinctive Obelisk style.

パターン制作へ/Pattern Making
デザインが決まったら、次はパターン制作です。
平面に描いたデザインを、実際に人が着用できる立体的な服へ変えていく重要な工程です。
シルエットやバランスを考えながら、細かな寸法を調整していきます。
デザイン画の雰囲気を残しながら、実際に着用した時に美しく見える形にしていきます。
Once the design is finalized, we move on to pattern making.
This is an important step where a two-dimensional sketch begins to transform into a three-dimensional garment that can actually be worn.
We carefully adjust the measurements, silhouette, and overall balance while maintaining the character of the original design.
トワルを制作してシルエットを確認/Creating the Toile
パターンができたら、いきなり本番のレザーを裁断するわけではありません。
まずは別の生地を使って、仮縫い用のトワルを制作します。
実際に立体にすることで、デザイン画やパターンだけでは分からなかった部分が見えてきます。
腰回りやヒップ、裾幅、全体のシルエットなどを確認し、必要があればパターンを修正。
この工程が、完成した時のフィット感やシルエットを大きく左右します。
Before cutting the actual leather, we first create a toile using test fabric.
By turning the pattern into a three-dimensional garment, we can check details that cannot be fully understood from the sketch or flat pattern alone.
We examine the waist, hips, leg opening, and overall silhouette, making adjustments to the pattern whenever necessary.
This stage is extremely important in achieving the right fit and final shape.
いよいよ本番のレザーを裁断/Cutting the Actual Leather
トワルでシルエットを確認し、パターンの修正が終わったら、いよいよ本番のレザーを裁断していきます。
革は布とは違い、一枚一枚に表情があります。
傷やシワ、革の伸びる方向、厚みなどを確認しながら、どの部分にどのパーツを配置するかを決めていきます。
そして一度ハサミを入れた革は、基本的には元には戻せません。
そのため、一枚一枚のパーツを確認しながら慎重に裁断していきます。
After checking the silhouette with the toile and making the necessary pattern adjustments, we finally begin cutting the actual leather.
Unlike ordinary fabric, every piece of leather has its own unique character.
We carefully examine the grain, natural wrinkles, thickness, stretch direction, and any marks before deciding where each pattern piece should be placed.
Once leather is cut, there is no turning back, so every piece is positioned and cut with great care.
ここからスタッズカスタム、そして縫製へ/Next: Stud Customization and Sewing
レザーの裁断が終わると、ここからさらにObeliskらしい表情を加えていきます。
今回の大きなポイントとなるのが、スタッズカスタム。
スタッズの配置やバランスによって、同じレザーパンツでも印象は大きく変わります。
これからスタッズ加工、縫製、細かな仕上げを重ねながら、一枚のデザイン画だったものが、本物のレザーハーフパンツへと完成していきます。
Once the leather has been cut, the next stage is where even more of Obelisk’s character begins to appear.
A major feature of this piece will be the custom stud work.
The placement and balance of the studs can dramatically change the overall impression of the leather pants.
From here, we will continue with stud customization, sewing, and detailed finishing until the original sketch finally becomes a finished pair of leather half pants.
