Fresh Green Leather Riders Jacket | From Pattern Making to Cutting & Sewing
兵庫県・平原様からのサイズオーダー
以前ご紹介した、兵庫県の平原様からオーダーいただいたフレッシュグリーンのレザーライダースジャケット。
B’z 稲葉浩志さんが、ワールド・ベースボール・クラシックの応援ソング「タッチ」のPVで着用されたObelisk製レザージャケットをベースにした一着です。
鮮やかなフレッシュグリーンのカラーと、シャープなライダースデザイン。
今回は、このオリジナルの雰囲気を残しながら、女性が着用した時に美しいシルエットになるよう、平原様のサイズに合わせてパターンから制作しています。
Custom Size Order from Hyogo
Previously, we introduced this fresh green leather riders jacket, custom ordered by Ms. Hirahara from Hyogo Prefecture.
The design is based on an Obelisk leather jacket worn by Koshi Inaba of B’z in the promotional video for “Touch,” a support song for the World Baseball Classic.
Its vivid fresh green color and sharp riders-jacket design create a powerful presence.
For this order, we are preserving the character of the original design while creating a new pattern specifically tailored to Ms. Hirahara’s measurements, with particular attention to achieving a beautiful feminine silhouette.
デニムトワルから本番パターンへ
前回は、まずデニム生地を使ってトワルを制作。
実際のシルエットやサイズバランスを確認しながら、肩まわり、バスト、ウエスト、着丈などを細かく調整していきました。
サイズオーダーは、単純に全体を小さくするだけではありません。
特にメンズをベースにしたライダースを女性のシルエットに仕上げる場合、各部分のバランスを取り直すことが重要です。
トワルで確認した修正をパターンに反映し、いよいよ本番のレザーへ進みます。
From Denim Toile to the Final Pattern
In the previous stage, we first created a toile using denim fabric.
While checking the actual silhouette and overall size balance, we carefully adjusted areas such as the shoulders, bust, waist, and jacket length.
A custom size order is not simply a matter of making the entire garment smaller.
Especially when adapting a men’s riders jacket to a feminine silhouette, it is essential to rebalance each section of the garment.
After transferring the adjustments confirmed with the toile back to the pattern, we are finally ready to move on to the actual leather.
革を一枚ずつ確認しながら裁断
革は一枚一枚、表情や厚み、伸び方が異なります。
完成した時に各パーツの表情が自然につながるよう、革の状態を見ながらパターンを配置し、一枚ずつ裁断していきます。
少しずつ平面だった革が立体になり、ライダースジャケットの姿へと変わっていきます。
Cutting Each Piece of Leather
Every piece of leather has its own unique character, thickness, texture, and degree of stretch.
To ensure that the individual parts flow naturally together when the jacket is completed, we carefully position each pattern while examining the condition and character of the leather before cutting each piece.
Gradually, the flat leather begins to take on a three-dimensional form and starts transforming into a riders jacket.
フレッシュグリーンを縫製
今回のポイントは、やはりこのフレッシュグリーン。
強い存在感を持つカラーだからこそ、女性らしいシルエットとライダースらしいシャープさ、その両方を活かせるよう仕上げていきます。
裁断したパーツを一つひとつ組み上げながら、いよいよ縫製へ。
少しずつ、完成形が見えてきました。
Sewing the Fresh Green Leather
The key feature of this jacket is, of course, its striking fresh green color.
Because the color itself has such a strong presence, we are carefully balancing a feminine silhouette with the sharp, powerful character of a classic riders jacket.
The individually cut leather pieces are now being assembled one by one as we move into the sewing process.
Little by little, the final shape of the jacket is beginning to emerge.
